Last Saturday,
Trips for Kids Marin
hosted our 1st Annual Hugs & Bubbles party to recognize and celebrate all the support that our fabulous donors have provided over the years.
Our Trail Rides,
Earn-a-Bike
and
Mobile Bike Workshop
programs would not be possible without the support of the hundreds of individual donors, sponsors and foundations that give every year to help us reach more underserved children in more communities across the Bay Area. And so, this year, we decided to say THANKS!
For those who were not able to attend in person, here were some of the highlights:
Trips For Kids' youngest-ever donors!
Vaila and Sammy, currently 7th graders at Mill Valley Middle School, winners of the
Clif Bar
Sportsmanship Award at the
Kids Adventure Games in Squaw Valley
this past summer, decided to donate their $1000 prize to Trips for Kids Marin! As mountain biking and outdoor sports have been a huge part of their lives, they made their donation with the hope that more children could have the same experiences on bikes that they had growing up.
And they stole the show...
Thanks again to Sammy, Vaila and their parents for attending...and for their generous, heartfelt and most-appreciated donation!
The Bubbles!
A big thanks to
Rack&Riddle Wines
and
Iron Springs Pub and Brewery
(a long-time supporter of Trips For Kids programs!) for generously donating the “bubbles” for our hugs and bubbles party. If you like what you tasted, make sure to shop the
Sonoma County Blanc de Noirs
and the Saison d'Été Farmhouse Ale for more where that came from!
The Band!
TFK board member Alan Nichols (on bass) and friends generously donated their talents so that our party could have its own live trio (and thanks to them, we now can say “we know the band.”).
"Si, tu puedes!"
We always knew that TFK Marin Ride Leader Adam Smith was passionate about mountain biking, but little did we know he was also such performer...and en Espanol nonetheless! Adam proved that he was born for the stage with his heartwarming story about helping a young trail ride participant finally overcome his fear of riding downhill on the bike, a story that won’t soon be forgotten (by the audience or the young mountain biker!).
And...the baby!
TFK’s youngest team member, baby Santiago, made a surprise appearance on his 1-month birthday to do what babies to best...be the center of attention. We all loved saying hello to TFK’s newest family member (and to his mom, our Ride Coordinator Mariel), and can’t wait to see him in the office again soon. When can we get him on a bike, Mariel??
Thank you again to everyone for coming out to celebrate. And an extra special thank you to Mark Westwind, our Salesforce consultant extraordinaire, for the fabulous photos above. Hope you see you all again next year!
